Chapter Philanthropy

Our Chapter prides itself on the commitment to service of all of its members, through outreach programs in West Philadelphia, tutoring for underprivileged kids, volunteering abroad, and so much more. As a Chapter, some of our favorite events are our those we organize to benefit Sigma Kappa's National Philanthropies, including Inherit the Earth, the Maine Sea Coast Mission, and Gerontology Research with a specific goal of finding a cure for Alzheimer's Disease. We focus our fundraising efforts towards Sigma Kappa's Ultra Violet Campaign, which provides funding to SK's national initiatives along with leadership development, sisters in need, and education.

Each fall, we participate in the Philadelphia Alzheimer's Walk. For the upcoming walk scheduled for November 10, we have raised $4,416! We also participated in the Week of Giving this past fall, helping organizations ranging from the Maine Seacoast Mission to Survived and Punished (sexual violence prevention).

In addition to these smaller projects, our Chapter hosts two major philanthropy events every year: the newly inaugurated Sweet and Savory event in the fall and Quizzo in the spring. In 2017, our Sweet and Savory event raised $2,366 for Alzheimer's Research, and we had tons of fun giving out chicken and waffles to our fellow students!
